Two men are facing child molestation charges following a 3- month long investigation by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Deputies began the investigation after they discovered James Lewis Jr., 29, of Hortense, engaged in sexual activity with a minor in Effingham County. During the investigation it was revealed that Lewis had contacted the victim, via social networking, and a relationship ensued between the two resulting in Lewis ultimately meeting the minor for sex.

During interviews with the child, it was revealed she was also contacted by Clinton “ Clint “ Clements,  32, of Guyton, who also engaged in sexual activity with the child.

Both Clements and Lewis were arrested and charged with child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, and interference with custody. Investigators believe that these to offenders may have been in contact with other minor children in the area via social networking. “ Parents are urged to examine their children’s social networking pages and report the existence of either of these individuals to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division,” Sheriff’s spokesman David Ehsanipoor said.
